There’s nothing like a good camping trip in the spring and summer. I love a good campfire and smores, but my favorite thing about camping is simply lying in a hammock, reading a book with no distractions around. If you want a slightly more active camping vacation, take these camping coloring pages with you to keep your little campers occupied during downtime.

Whether you’ve got a cub scout at home or you simply love getting out into nature for a weekend, camping can get you away from the stresses of the modern world to reconnect with nature. Camping in a tent or a full RV? You can bring camping coloring pages with you no matter where your outdoor adventures take you. Color in a campsite just like yours or a cute ghost roasting marshmallows.

Camping Activities and Crafts to Bring on Your Next Trip
While you’re outside enjoying your camping coloring pages, you can incorporate these other fun camping activities and crafts as well. They’re great for the kids.
Make a Campfire You Can Eat
What’s better than a campfire and smores? This craft will have you building a very different type of campfire, the type you can eat. This is a super fun craft because it involves foods that are easy to take on a camping trip outdoors. You can use a paper plate for a base, though you may want to cut it down to be a little smaller. That’s because you’re going to cover it with a peanut base. That lets you stick other foods into the peanut butter to build up your bonfire. Popcorn and candies make a good substitute for a ring of stones. As for the flames, carrot sticks and apple slices are not only perfect, but they’re also a healthy snack.
Play Camp Charades
You’re outside with a roaring campfire. It’s a perfect time for a game of charades. Gather the family around the tent, camper, or RV and play some charades. You might want to draft up a list of camping-themed charades before you start. To get you started, we suggest things like cub scout, campfire, smores, backpack, tent, hiking. You might even look to our camping coloring pages for some additional inspiration.
Build a Nature Shelter for a Peep
While you’re busy setting up your tent, have the kids build a nature shelter for a little friend. A tiny candy like a peep is perfect because it’s small and bird-like. Kids can use things they find at the campsite such as sticks and twigs to try to build a shelter. If any of your kids are cub scouts or girl scouts, they might have a leg up on this craft, but either way, this is a fun little project for the kids using things that they can find at your campsite.
Do a Campsite Scavenger Hunt
In a similar vein, you can conduct a campsite scavenger hunt. You might even hide a few key items that you need for your trip, such as a headlamp, a watch, a sleeping bag, and other camping supplies. You can also use natural items like specific plants, birds, and critters. It’s a great way to teach kids about the outdoors.
Use Your Coloring Pages for “Eye Spy” at the Campground
While you’re enjoying your camping coloring pages, you can turn them into a game like your scavenger hunt. See how many images from the coloring pages you can find at your campsite! You probably have things like a backpack, campfire, and smores. Maybe you even have some of the birds in the coloring sheets if you look carefully.
